36 passengers and crew have been injured, some seriously, in a mid-flight incident involving an airliner flying from Singapore to Perth, Australia.
The Qantas Airbus aircraft made an emergency landing in north-west Australia following what the carrier called a sudden change in altitude. Some of the injured experienced lacerations and broken bones, requiring hospital treatment. Australia's flagship carrier has suffered a number of incidents in recent months, leading to a security review by Australia's civil aviation authority.
