1300: Piquet sets the first meaningful time in Spa, clocking 1:48.727 Britain's Lewis Hamilton wins German Grand Prix ...
Raikkonen bemoans Hamilton crash ... for Renault. The Force Indias and the Hondas are also out on the track.
1300: Off we go then. I do like Nelson Piquet, because you can always rely on him to get out early and he's at it again in Spa. I bet he's the sort who turns up to a party on time with a nice bottle of plonk and some pretzels.
1258: Ah-ha Darrell to quickly answer your question (1248) the last time qualifying was wet in Spa was back in 2004. Qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix was pretty damp and foggy too at Fuji last year.
1255: Fluctuating weather in Spa. The temperature is a mediocre 17C and it is pretty windy too, but it's dry overhead though a patch of showers are close by.
1248: "Fantastic qualifying session ahead, bring on the rain I say, by the way when was the last time a qualifying session was wet?"

1244: It's no secret that Ferrari really want to push their title challenge in Belgium and what happens this weekend could have an impact on which driver they favour going into the final five races of the season.
Massa is six points adrift of McLaren's Lewis Hamilton and, after setting the fastest lap of the weekend so far on Friday, he's looking strong again in Spa. Raikkonen, who is 13 points off the lead, is gunning for a fourth consecutive victory at the Belgian Grand Prix but his Friday saw him lose his rear wing and there were more wobbles in final practice.
Raikkonen's engine blew last time out in Valencia but the team are confident they have resolved their problems after a spell of testing in Monza. But at a track that demands full throttle for pretty much most of the lap, its all fingers crossed in the Ferrari pits.
1236: "It's one of those where you don't know what could happen but my predictions are: 1. Massa 2. Hamilton 3. Kubica."

1235: Final practice was dampened by a smattering of rain early on and the drivers were out trialling the grip on the wet, intermediate and then the soft tyres as the racing line began to dry up.
Nick Heidfeld clocked the fastest lap of one minute 47.876 seconds for BMW Sauber. The German team haven't finalised their 2009 line-up yet and his hot lap will be a fillip for Heidfeld, who needs to raise his game after a dip in form.
1225: Hello there. It's Saturday and what could be more relaxing on the weekend than a trip to a spa, sorry, Spa.
The Belgian Grand Prix is staged at the longest circuit in Formula One at 4.35 miles with plenty of fast corners, slow corners, ups and downs and sweeping runs through the Ardennes Forest.
And if you thought the British were obsessed with discussing the weather how about the good folk of Spa?
The weather is so unpredictable that there's an old adage in F1 that it can be raining at one end of the track and sunny at the other.
But what will all this mean for qualifying - who will master the changeable conditions and take pole?
