Huge rally in Cuba marks May Day ... Castro gave a speech to 10,000 invited guests telling them Cuba would be prepared to defend itself militarily regardless of who is elected as US president in November. He also warned of economic hardships ahead due to spiralling world food costs. The 48-minute speech did not include any references to new reforms.
