The Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal was voted the `Best five star hotel in Hungary for 2003`, has won the prestigious title ‘Best Hotel Architecture in Europe’ in 2004 and was awarded ‘Best Five Star Hotel’, ‘Best Hotel Conference Facilities’, and its Rickshaw Restaurant & Sushi Bar as ‘Best East-Asian Restaurant’ in the city of Budapest in 2004.
Behind its distinguished façade, located in the heart of Budapest, the old Grand Hotel Royal has been transformed into the superb, modern Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal. As far as accommodation is concerned, we strive for the highest standards.
Superior bedrooms have white doors and white wardrobes and medium cherry bed headboards, side tables and desks. All rooms have a trouser press. All bathrooms are ensuite and include hairdryer, telephone, bath with separate shower, radio, shaving socket and toiletries. Spacious, lavishly furnished, and tastefully decorated, a superior room is a place to dwell in while enjoying the most carefully chosen facilities.

Royal Spa & Wellness Center
The rebirth of the "Royal legend" will be fulfilled beginning of 2006 when the Royal Spa & Wellness Center reopens its gates for its Jubilee, and will provide guests and members with a new experience of relaxation, combining the historical bath with nowadays wellness needs.
The history of the Royal’s Spa
The spa was planned and built by the architect Vilmos Freund in 1886-88. At that time it contained steam baths, wave and shower baths, electric baths, pneumatic chamber and a medical room with cold water. Contemporary journalists were fascinated by the spa’s appearance. In 1903 direct access was created for hotel guests. After the First World War, Freund was declared bankrupt and his heirs sold the spa in 1923 to the Royal Nagyszálló Rt. The spa operated until 1944 but from that time it has been closed. The abandoned, obsolete spa was rediscovered in 1983 and, according to the original documents, there were plans to use the spa area for parking facilities. Thankfully, János Dianóczki, who was in charge of planning the multi-storey car park, turned down the proposal. The media and the public supported him and his decision made it possible to restore the spa today.

The guest is met with a soaring centralatrium that rises six floors to a glass roof. At its base, a huge decorative mosaic flows across the lobby floor, echoing the art nouveau period and providing a breathtaking centrepiece to the space.
